Another year is done

Wow 2017 is going to be over in a few hours and I have had some time to think about the last year. I have gotten in better health! Walked not one but two 10ks this year! Went on a great vacation for Sanibel Florida! Planted a wonderful garden. Made better choices for my eating! Kept my blood pressure under control. Had family come and visit at my house for the first time ever! And my business did pretty well this last year as well! I have had a pretty blessed year really!

As 2018 comes rushing in I want to take a few minutes and share what my plans are for the new year.

Business wise I am taking a Master Class and learning more about portraits and getting more candid photos of my clients. Try and get there natural appearance. Even going to work on selling some of my work. Reading the Photographers Market 2018 book and going to get my work out there a bit! Starting January off with promo photos of a client for her new radio show…so exciting!

Still going to work on my health. The gym a few days a week and then some added stretching at home. I plan to walk the Air Force 10k again in 2018 and walk it a bit faster than in 2017. A few 5Ks I’m sure are going to happen as well. Plan to keep taking inches and weight off my body and continue to cook more at home for me and the family.

Going to spend time with friends and family in 2018. Going to try and make a schedule to see people that I have missed this last year. Even if it’s a FaceTime chat. Life is to short not too!

I am taking time for me in 2018. Whether it is a walk, a trip to the gym, some quiet time or what ever I am adding this to my life in 2018. It will help my mind to me healthier as well.

May 2018 be blessed beyond all our imaginations. May we all be healthier than we have ever been and may we be doing what makes us happy!

Bring in 2018! I’m ready!

I am truly blessed to have so many people in my life to help me on my journey.

I dropped 14.75 inches off my body in 2014.  Never to be seen again.  I don’t own a scale so that update will come in Feb when I go back to the doctor.

Thank you for being a part of my blogging life.  I have enjoyed sharing stories with you and hearing your comments.  Ive enjoyed getting to know you along the way as well.

Here is to a 2015 that is full of dreams fulfilled and love beyond our imagination. See you next year!

Playing back Christmas pictures….

As I sat this morning cleaning off my memory cards from Christmas I came across this one.

This is what we have instead of stockings full of stuff.  As my father tells the story this is what his treat was as a child.  My father grew up in Newhall West Virginia and is one of 13 kids.  They each had a brown paper sack on christmas morning that had one apple, one orange, some walnuts, a candy cane and some sort of candy that they liked.  My father has continued this tradition with us. He now just sets it on the table but the Memory is still there.  We snack on this while we are waiting to open gifts and through out the holiday season.

I love that I have so many memories from my childhood that are still in effect today!  Makes me truly blessed!

What now…

So I have caught some kinda cold :0(  Pretty sure my sister gave it to me over Christmas.  So as I have been in a cough syrup funk the last few days, I have been thinking to myself, where do I want this blog to go.  I am a photographer yes and I am working on a website for that.  I have my muses website (www.mrpsadventures.com), but what about this one.  So this one will be a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Some of you will dig it, some of you won’t. That OK!

As the year comes to an end I am grateful for all I have learned from your comments and from reading your blogs as well. On the first I am going to list my goals for this next year and with your help I can put a big dent in making them a reality.

I have started an accountability group on Facebook.  Some past coworkers, high school buddy’s, friends and I are helping one another stay on track.  It has been a blessing being able to be a light at the end of the tunnel.  We aren’t perfect, you know that and so do I.  Sometimes we just need someone to say that s ok you can start again tomorrow. That what we all need.I am really looking forward to seeing where this leads us all.

Thanks for being a part of my blog!  Thanks for reading, commenting, following!

You never know what will happen next!

It made Christmas present a lot of fun!

Everyone has that one gift they always remember

Growing up I only remember my mother wearing 3 different pair of shoes.  Dress shoes on Sunday, crappy shoes that she had forever to do lawn work in, and loafers.

Up until the year she passed away my father would go out the week before Christmas and go buy her the same pair of shoes….EVERY YEAR.  He would go into Elder Beerman and walk up to the shoe counter and get the same size 8.5 pair of shoes.

On Christmas there would always be a shoe box wrapped by him and she would say….I wonder what is in this box.

moms shoes

As you can see it was her favorite gift….lol  Now that I am older I am pretty sure it was her fav because my dad went out and bought it himself.  Every time I see a pair of loafers I am reminded of the many years of mom unwrapping the loafers and always acted like she had no idea what was in the box.

Where has the year gone already.

As I sit at the computer taking a small break from studying I am reminded that in just 2 short months I will be a college graduate.  Wow this is like  a dream.  It seems like yesterday that I was walking into Sinclair Community College and talking to them about what my next step in life was going to be.    I am 5 pages away from having my Capstone finished for my degree and 6 tests away from being done with my associates degree.  That may not sound like a lot but to this “GIRL,” it means everything.

I am  firm believer that if you think you can do it then you can.  Will you catch on right away?  Maybe, but most likely not. I have had to learn to be  a better me and for that I am changed for the better for sure.

I am eating better and seeing the inches starting to come back off.  Keeping a food journal has been helping for sure.  Trying to stay under 1500 calories is getting easier now that I have my snacks all made out for the week :0)  I am down to my original measurements so I am good with that.  Now to get a scale that works correctly :0)

Spring has finally stepped in and giving us a bit of sunshine and I am thankful for that.  For a lot of reasons.  One I can get out on the bike path again and I can start walking the dogs in the mornings again.

One day at a time. That’s all we can do…Really one breath and one heart beat.  With that have a great day!

Jan 8 A new semester

Looks like I will be attending college another semester….YEAH!  I am trying to be excited.  I have never been the school kinda person.  Socially yes I am so there but academically….Not so much.  It’s not that I am doing bad, I just feel like I have to do better.  My own worse enemy really.

I could download one of the syllabus’ I need. The study guide is a crossword puzzle.  I am not a fan of these at all. But they are worth extra credit and I need all the extra credit I can get.

I will arrive early.  I hate to be late.  It all going to be ok.  I have my bag packed except for snacks and all is well.

So off I go.  I’ll let ya know how it goes!

I have not fallen off the wagon

Sorry for the silence fellow bloggers and readers.  I have been knee deep in paper writing and family drama.  That leaves little time for blogging so I will try and catch up.

Family drama—Well seems my partner has decided that we should no longer be together.  This has upped my gym time.  Poor Treadmill has had my name all over it.  Which caused a 3.5 inch drop off my body this week.  I really need to get on the scale.  Maybe Wednesday.

So here are the numbers

-.5 inchs off my neck sense Jan 1

-2 inches off my Chest (that could have stayed LOL)

-1.25 inches off my abs

-6.5 off my hips

-1.5 off my thighs

gained 1 inch on my biceps :0)

So all together I have lost 11.75 inches..that is with a few weeks of up and downs!

Those are inches I will never see again on my body.

Hope you all have a great day!  Ill be back with you after midterms!

31 Days In

After 31 days I am eating better and feeling better health wise but I feel a bit unsettled.  I am still losing inches and I am very thankful for that.  If I didn’t tell you all I am down another inch.   Happy noises go here!  Still only the 4 pounds and I guess I should be thankful for that.  I know what the problem is.  I am not drinking enough water, changing that.  I got a water bottle :0)  If I have it with me I will drink it.  That and I eat to many carbohydrates.  I know this about me.  One change at a time.

I have had a great month.  I am feeling good and looking thinner.  I have a few new projects in the works.  I got my taxes done today.  usually this is a big event that takes place the day before they are due.  So thankful that is over and I got my financial aid paperwork done today as well.  that is the way to end January.  On a positive note!

I am ready for February.  One day at a time.  One step and one breathe……that’s how I am gonna roll!

Till Next Time……
