On Aug 4th my friend Deny I had the pleasure of riding in the Tour de Dayton. This 10 mile bike ride took the rider thru many interesting stops in Dayton Ohio. It is a ride at your own pace adventure and stopped at 14 different locations.
This was the 2nd year for the Tour de Dayton and I am already looking forward to next years ride.
Here is the route:
Here are some pictures from the ride:
As we registered we were instructed that there would be signs like this and arrows on the ground to direct us on our way. Here we are about to take off on our adventure.
Here we are at the first stop The Urban Krag Center.
Then it was off to The Neon Theater
Then there was a stop at the Convention Center, and a short ride over to Riverscape…..
At Riverscape there is a Paul Laurence Dunbar Memorial that is a must see….
With a quick stop at the Bike Hub
Then we went along the River for a scenic view
This is the half way point time for water and the Life Enrichment Center…
This place is a must see. They recycle bikes for kids and teach them the rules of the road. They have a program that when the children finish they get a bike and helmet. The Center is ran by volunteers! What a great way to give back to the communicate….
There were a few other stops along the way but these were the highlights. Thank you Tour de Dayton Volunteers you did a great job at every stop telling about your point of interest!
If you get the opportunity to ride this next year by all means come join me!
Till next year!
