I had to get some plants in some dirt. I needed to feel something growing and watch it burst out of the ground. I got my wish..
That was after just three days. March 2nd I started sowing the seeds and by the 5th I had growth. Yesterday was the 17th and this is what I have.
15 days and I have sprouts everywhere. It’s looking like everything but the tomatoes will be ready soon….opppps however I’m going to put them in a bigger container till after Mother’s Day. Here in the 937 it’s not safe for them to be planted. We usually get just one more good frost right before Mother’s Day. Last year we planted a week before and lost two beds full of plants due to frost.
My cousins run a Facebook page called Beginner Foodie and I will be live streaming on there and sharing blog posts. Showing people how easy gardening can be and how they too can go Garden to table. For those of you finding my blog I hope you enjoy it as much as I like writing it.
Hey everyone! So today I decided to make a roast in the pressure cooker.
I bought a bottom round roast 1.78 pounds some carrots, celery, onion, garlic. I raided the cupboard and didn’t find any beef broth so I used vegetable broth (just a cup) and some water
Cut up the veggies
Seared the roast on both sides with some garlic powder on it in the pressure cooker (put in a little olive oil in the bottom of the pan) and took it out. Then sautéed the onion celery and garlic for a little bit.
Turned it off and added the carrots and potatoes to the bottom of the pot. Put my meat on top of that. Put some salt and pepper on it and sealed the lid! I then hit the cook time selector and made it go to medium.
Set the pressure cooker for 40 minutes and crossed my fingers (this is only my third meal in the pressure cooker.)
Timer beeps, I slowly let the air out a few times, then let it all out. Take off the lid and the results:
Then to plate it…..
Good stuff! We will so be having this again!
As crazy as the world gets sometimes it’s the little things in life that make me smile…
A sleeping dog that has decided that my coffe table makes a great bed….or
Playing monopoly card game because we are both not feeling well (surgery recovery and a fractured arm :0()
But even with the fractured arm I still can make muffins
Happy Fall everyone! Hope we get a lot of color here in the 937. I’ll keep ya posted!
Today we were asked to think about the word street. Here is one of my favorites….
This is the street I grew up on. You can see the front of my car as I head down the street. To the left is the house I grew up in and on the right is the street light that I told time from. As long as the light wasn’t on I could be anywhere on the block. But when the light came on I had better have been on that front porch or I was spending the next few days in the house.
The houses around my parents home were full of people that I have fond memories of. There is the neighbor that carried me home when I fell off my bike and broke my arm (not sure who was crying harder me or her), or the man I called Grandpa that I watched every Cincinnati Reds game that was televised with from the age of 9 till I moved away from home. Most of them have moved on to the afterlife but they played an important roll in my childhood.
This picture brings a lot memories great for me.
