Chicken broccoli & rice is what went in the pressure cooker yesterday. Mighty tasty if I do say so myself. Here are the ingredients and directions. After that is my play by play!
Now for what happened while I was cooking.
So I cubed up the chicken and cut up the onion. Put the butter in the pressure cooker and turned it on. When the butter melted I put the onions in there and let them start cooking. Added some garlic and threw in the chicken and the spices (I added rosemary salt) Mixing it all up as I go.
I used frozen broccoli this time (I forgot to get fresh at the store.) put the broth and rice in the pressure cooker and put the lid on. Put the broccoli in the microwave and about 4 minutes in I blew a fuse in the house. It turned off the pressure cooker and the microwave. Of course there is no one here so I run to the fuse box. Doesn’t look like any fuses are blown and I have no idea which fuse is the kitchen fuse so I throw them all. Good idea right…nope, set off the house alarm. Dogs go crazy. I run to go turn that off and rush back into the kitchen. Good news is pressure cooker is at pressure. The recipe says to set the pressure cooker for 5 minutes. I haven’t figured that out yet so I set mine to 15 and then stopped it after the 5 minutes. I mixed the flour and milk….oh wait I didn’t have milk so I used heavy whipping cream. I know, but it’s what I had and added a bit of water to it. It worked. After releasing the pressure I added the flour mix and stored it all up and then added the broccoli and the cheese.
It was really good! This could be a crowd favorite! Served it right away with a salad! The pot cleaned up easily as well!
This one took me a minute. I started out with one idea that totally changed when reading the assignment again.
Being I have been helping prepare dinner for tomorrow I thought you would find this interesting….
She was so funny.
But my first thought turned to cutting edge which is where I started my morning.
I stopped in to see the guys at Proto Build Bar in Dayton Ohio. This is there Huge Claw machine. It has been to the Super Bowl, Vegas and a few other well known venues!
Cutting edge technology right in my hometown!
So I have been walking again. I know its bout time but I am doing this and feeling good about it again :0)
Last week I logged 28.74 miles and 66,620 steps. I feel good about it too!
One step is better then one more second on the couch for me. I was going to skip it today and just sleep in but God had other plans. I woke up from a crazy nightmare and thought well I’m up I might as well walk it off and I did! Saw a beautiful sun rise. I am blessed.
I am drinking more water again and eating better and am feeling good! Started measuring again this week so I will get back caught up with that on my next blog. Watching my BP. I am on meds but my BP is way low compared to what it has been to get me on said BP meds. I go to the Doc in 3 weeks and I am going to talk to her about that. If it stays low I may have to adjust by calling her. We shall see. My BP after a 1.5 mile walk and a 25 minute bike ride in the humidity was 117/63 that seems a bit low but Im watching it.
Other then that life is what it is.
I made zucchini bread from scratch. Let me tell ya it was WONDERFUL! Neighbors liked it and I am taking a piece to my dad and sister the rest well….its mine :0)
well that is my update…..till next time…….
Today I hung out with little Spud! We kinda laid around and just chilled out.
Was a great day. Treats, walks, playing catch, just some of the things we did!
I love having Spud around to play with!
Looks like I was on Tv at Aunt Kikis house. They were watching old movies of my younger years.
Wonder what were gonna do tomorrow?
